Roger Barakat

Director of Engineering

Roger Barakat serves as Director of Engineering for Paragon Hotel Company. Mr. Barakat provides Maintenance and Engineering support to all our portfolio’s General Managers and their Engineering Staff. His day-to-day responsibilities include managing capital projects, guiding local site management to resolve chronic technical issues related to hotel facilities, supporting property maintenance teams, and providing training, feedback and reporting on operational opportunities. Roger also acts as a mentor to property maintenance teams and works to assist in the growth, development and success of each properties’ maintenance Chief.

Roger’s career in business led him to become a property manager in a large residential asset company in Florida, managing a portfolio of over 300 income producing properties. There he excelled, by continually being able to manage an ever-growing portfolio. Roger was adept at keeping all properties well-maintained and profitable. He managed all phases of the procurement / construction / maintenance cycle. Roger was then able to take his experience in property management and transition into hotel engineering.

Roger and his wife Jacinda love the great outdoors especially boating. He is a die-hard sports fan and loves to attend sporting events. Roger also appreciates fine art, wine and food. Some days you may see Roger out on a lake fishing and enjoying the scenic terrain that South Carolina has to offer and on other days you may find him at an art gallery in Greenville enjoying some wine and a thoughtful discussion on the merits of the work being presented.
